About the Role

We are looking for a Vice President of People Operations to join the Jones Road Beauty leadership team. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and partners closely with the CEO and executive leadership team. The VP of People Operations will own the end‑to‑end people strategy for the company, including talent acquisition, performance management, culture, organizational design, leadership development, and people systems.

This individual will help architect the team, processes, and culture required to support Jones Road’s next phase of growth.

The ideal candidate is a highly strategic, people‑centric leader who combines high performance standards with an empathetic approach. They are comfortable operating at the executive level while remaining hands‑on in a fast‑paced, founder‑led, scrappy environment. This role requires strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence leaders while building trust across the organization. Beyond recruitment, this role is responsible for shaping how Jones Road hires, develops, evaluates, and retains talent — ensuring the company scales with clarity, accountability, and a strong, healthy culture of performance.

Talent Acquisition & Org Design

  • Partner with hiring managers and executives to define roles, scopes, and org structure aligned with business priorities.
  • Build proactive, outbound talent pipelines for critical roles across the organization.
  • Manage and optimize relationships with external recruiting partners as needed.
Performance, Culture & Development
  • Set the company‑wide performance management philosophy and ensure leaders at all levels uphold clear expectations, accountability, and high standards.
  • Own and refine the annual performance review, KPI, and bonus compensation processes.
  • Build and foster a culture of high performance, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Develop and support manager and leadership development initiatives as the company scales.
Employee Experience & Operations
  • Establish scalable frameworks for employee relations, serving as the escalation point for complex or sensitive people matters.
  • Oversee people‑related systems and infrastructure (including HRIS), ensuring operational excellence and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Own and evolve the Jones Road onboarding experience and employee lifecycle programs.
  • Own and maintain the Jones Road employee handbook and core people policies.
Culture & Community
  • Act as a cultural steward during periods of growth, change, or organizational transition.
  • Partner with leadership to reinforce Jones Road’s values across teams and functions.
  • Oversee planning for company‑wide events, offsites, and gatherings that strengthen connection and culture.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 12+ years of progressive People Operations, HR, or talent leadership experience, including significant experience operating at the executive level.
