Cost Estimation Technician

Job Description

The Cost Estimation Technician will assist in the preparation of Estimates to ensure all requirements specified in the Request for Quote (RFQ) are fulfilled in a timely manner, and that the Estimation procedures and processes are followed.

• Set up directory folders & framework for Estimates.
• Prepare Estimates for analysis.
  • Import Customer Bill Of Materials (BOM) data and populate Estimation worksheets.
  • Extract Outsourced Items and research their costing.
• Prepare outsourcing packages.
• Analyze sheet metal costs and feasibility of fabrication.
• Complete piece-work Estimates.
• Work with Solid Works
  • Import and transform 3d model file formats.
  • Create fabrication drawings for vendors.
  • Extract Engineering BOMs

All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.

• Manufacturing environment experience preferred – Generalist
• Well-organized and detail oriented.
• Strong Excel skills (Organize, scrub and export data)
• Experience with 3D models and manufacturing drawings is required.
• Office software literate preferred:
  Outlook, word, Adobe Acrobat
• Spatial aptitude is important (cognitive ability to visualize geometric shapes).
• Growth mindset, curiosity, and a passion for learning. Software Training and Technical Training are available for the right candidate.
