Your role

As a Project Engineer – Energy and Building, you will play a key role in implementing capital projects related to Yoplait Liberté Canada’s (YLCC) energy systems, buildings, and infrastructure. You will actively contribute to providing technical solutions for YLCC sites, working closely with various multidisciplinary teams.

This position is based at our Saint‑Hyacinthe plant.

What you will accomplish daily

• Act as the lead engineer for all capital projects, including overall project management following the SQCDEE model (Health/Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, Engagement, Environment), general system design, cost estimation, equipment evaluation and selection, procurement, installation and contractor management, commissioning, and performance monitoring
• Ensure the long‑term sustainability of installations by integrating design and usage standards based on best practices and technical analyses
• Propose innovative technical solutions to achieve business objectives, with a focus on health and safety, quality, performance, productivity, and environmental responsibility
• Maintain close communication between the engineering group and various plant departments (R&D, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Finance, etc.) as well as corporate technical teams to ensure best practices and support project success
• Provide, based on the candidate’s experience, technical support to engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other stakeholders across sites, while ensuring the maintenance and oversight of documentation related to insurance and utilities requirements

What you need to join our team

• University degree in engineering; membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is an asset
• More than 7 years of experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated project experience with water, ammonia, natural gas, electrical distribution, compressed air, wastewater, fire protection systems, HVAC, construction, and buildings
• Solid understanding of regulatory standards in the food industry (GMP, food safety, CFIA) and experience with CSA standards
• Experience working with plant technicians, management teams, suppliers, and in managing contractors and external subcontracting firms
