[What the role is]
[LTA-TRO] ENGINEER, BRIDGE MANAGEMENTManage, maintain, and repair essential road infrastructure including elevated vehicular structures (flyovers, viaducts, vehicular bridges), vehicular underpasses, retaining walls, and road gantries. Responsibilities include conducting structural inspections, implementing maintenance programmes, coordinating repair works, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining asset documentation to support reliable road network operations.
Software engineering competencies to analyse inspection data and maintenance records, supporting data-driven decision-making for maintenance scheduling and prioritisation will be a good to have.

Operations Management
• Lead and participate in progress meetings with consultants and contractors to address and resolve identified structural defects.
• Issue site instructions and work orders, ensuring timely and effective rectification of defects by contractors.
• Review and validate job measurement sheets, verifying accuracy of completed works on-site.
• Assess and process structural inspection reports submitted by consultants, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review work processes and method statements proposed by consultants and contractors, safeguarding operational integrity.
• Represent the division at consultation clinics, public feedback sessions, incident claim reviews, and inter-agency meetings with government bodies (HDB, PUB, NEA, SLA, JTC, URA, NHB, etc.) and other LTA divisions.
• Oversee handing-over and taking-over inspections with partner agencies and internal divisions, ensuring smooth transitions and accountability.
• Manage on-site incidents (e.g., gantry strikes by over-height vehicles, vehicular impacts on bridge structures) with consultants and contractors, ensuring immediate response and mitigation measures.
• Prepare comprehensive management and incident reports, including presentations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
• Monitor and track project expenditures, ensuring fiscal discipline and alignment with budgetary frameworks.
Maintenance Planning
• Formulate and implement asset renewal strategies and procurement plans to enhance infrastructure resilience and lifecycle performance.
• Review and refine technical specifications and standards, driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
• Secure project endorsements and funding approvals through well-structured proposals and strategic justification.
Good to have

[What we are looking for]
[What we are looking for]
• Knowledge in Civil / Structural Engineering;
• Relevant experiences in bridge design, construction, inspection, upgrading, rehabilitation and maintenance, material testing will be added advantage;
• Good knowledge in the design and installation of bridge joints / bearings, construction materials such as reinforced / pre-stressed concrete, steel etc. preferred.;
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Good writing, presentation and interpersonal skills; and
