Job Description

We are seeking a driven Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical control circuits for high‑voltage circuit breakers as well as the related mechanical drawings. This role plays a key part in delivering customer‑specific solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and continuously improving engineering and business processes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and customize electrical control circuits for high‑voltage circuit breakers, including schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and component selection, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to assess technical feasibility, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the development of proposals.
  • Communicate directly with suppliers and customers to clarify technical requirements, answer their questions, and ensure the suitability of the technical solutions.
  • Work with R&D to develop and optimize product design and improvements to meet customer needs and emerging market requirements.
  • Provide production support by resolving technical issues, answering design‑related questions, and ensuring a smooth transition between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Maintain and improve databases to ensure accuracy, standardization, and ease of use within engineering workflows.
  • Ensure configuration and setup of parts in SAP, validate drawings, and support functional assembly teams.
  • Serve as a reference on measurement and assembly equipment related to production.
  • Be available to travel up to 15% of the time (passport and U.S. visa, if required, must be valid).
Qualifications
  • Fluent bilingualism in French and English is required.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an electrical engineer in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in mechanical drafting using AutoCAD.
  • Leadership, initiative, and influencing skills.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and resilience in the face of technical challenges.
  • Ability to manage priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Skills in interpreting, reading, and analyzing technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of supply chains, manufacturing cycles, and industrial processes.
  • Must be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Prior experience collaborating with clients on custom‑designed products.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Experience managing complex technical projects.
  • Experience with high‑voltage circuit breakers or associated substation components (an asset).
