Axis Geoscience Ltd. is an independent geological consulting company based in New Brunswick, providing field-based exploration services to junior mineral exploration companies across Canada. Axis specializes in practical, discovery-focused exploration support, including geological mapping, prospecting, rock and soil sampling, core logging, drill supervision, GIS compilation, target generation, QA/QC, and technical reporting.
Axis Geoscience works with clients to execute efficient, data-driven field programs in remote and rugged environments, with a focus on safe operations, strong geological observation, and clear communication between the field, management, contractors, and investors.
Role Description This field-based Geologist role supports exploration programs through Axis Geoscience Ltd. The work will include planning and executing field programs, geological mapping, prospecting, sampling, core logging, and drill support on hard-rock exploration projects.
Daily responsibilities may include supervising or supporting drill campaigns, coordinating with contractors, collecting and validating geological and geotechnical data, maintaining accurate field and core records, managing samples and QA/QC procedures, and contributing to maps, sections, reports, and exploration models.

Flexibility to support a small, fast-moving exploration team.
Work will be completed with a focus on safety, environmental responsibility, regulatory compliance, and efficient advancement of priority exploration targets.
Qualifications Solid field skills, including geological mapping, prospecting, sampling, and working safely in remote or rugged terrain.
Experience with core logging, drill supervision, sample handling, and maintaining accurate drill/core records.
Understanding of gold/copper and uranium in hard-rock exploration systems, including structural controls, alteration, geochemistry, and geophysical targeting.
Ability to integrate geological mapping, geophysical data, assays, and historical information into practical exploration targets.
Experience with GIS and geological software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Micromine, or similar tools.
Strong data management, QA/QC, field documentation, and technical reporting skills.
Commitment to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory best practices.
Ability to work on rotating field schedules and communicate clearly with contractors, clients, management, and technical teams.
