The Production Planning Coordinator supports the Master Production Planner in executing the day-to-day production plan by coordinating in-house and out‑source production schedules, monitoring material availability, and maintaining accurate inventory. The role works closely with Production Supervisors, Purchasing, Receiving, Co‑packers, and Customer Service to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time order fulfillment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Scheduling

Develop and update (in case changes occur) the weekly production schedule to support operational priorities.

Create and manage work orders within the ERP system while ensuring accurate material allocation.

Coordinate schedule adjustments with Production Supervisors and/or Master Planner to address changes in capacity, material availability, or customer demand.

Monitor schedule adherence and communicate risks or delays.

Inventory Management

Maintain accurate inventory counts for ingredients, packaging, and finished products; investigate and resolve variances between physical stock and the ERP system.

Conduct annual physical inventory counts, cycle counts, spot checks, and other inventory counts as required.

Ensure best practices in material allocation: FIFO, lot traceability, stock rotation.

Produce inventory reports and analyze trends.

Co‑packer Coordination

Manage external production activities based on needs established by the Master Planner.

Coordinate production schedules with external manufacturing partners.

Create purchase orders (POs), prepare material allocation list, and packing slip for the outsourced productions.

Coordinate inbound/outbound transportation.

Track co‑packer inventories and create monthly reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields.

3+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Proven skill in maintaining data accuracy.

Capable of identifying issues in production planning and material availability and proactively implementing solutions.

Effective coordination with cross‑functional teams.

Proficiency in an ERP system. Knowledge of Business Central is considered an asset.

Advanced Excel, pivot tables are second nature to you.

Functional bilingualism (French/English). Required for communication with co‑packers, suppliers, and external partners who conduct business in English.

Experience in manufacturing or food/CPG industry, an asset.
