Job OverviewCanada Post is looking for a flexible and motivated individual to serve as a Delivery Agent or Postal Clerk on an on‑call basis. The role involves delivering mail and packages, both by foot and vehicle, or working in a sorting facility during various shifts.
Job ResponsibilitiesDelivery Agent – What you will do:
- Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries
- Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle
- Deliver mail and packages to customers by foot or vehicle on your route
- Return to the depot to unload incoming items for later delivery
Postal Clerk – What you will do:
- Work inside a sorting facility, sorting mail and packages
- Operate material handling equipment
- Receive and accept mail items, sort, scan, sequence, and batch them
- Transfer and dispatch parcels and packets
- Perform additional postal clerk duties as required
- Complete reports and documentation
Must have:
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
- Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Availability to work on‑call, including evenings and weekends
- Reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in English and/or French
Preferred / Helpful:
- Experience in customer service
- Experience delivering or working as a driver
- Experience in a production environment
- Competitive hourly pay ($23.81 per hour)
- Extensive classroom and on‑the‑job training on duties and safety
