Shift: (Days) Monday to Friday, 6:00am-3:00pm
SUMMARY  The Dock Foreman supervises dock personnel and ensures that loading and unloading procedures are completed efficiently and safely. They are responsible for supportive clerical functions related to dock operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES   Understand and implement Erb’s dock procedures.
Ensure all functions of the dock and the various duties of dock personnel. i.e. sorting, unloading, loading are completed safely and accurately.
Ensure the proper loading of trucks and trailers to avoid damages, improper temperatures, or reefer settings. Load appropriate freight and source applicable documentation.
Supervise and assign staff to loading, sorting, and unloading of freight and check orders to ensure accuracy.
Coordinate with dispatch staff regarding loads, drivers, volume of freight, progress and to prioritize loads.
Ensure proper handling of product to avoid employee injury, damages, freezing, or thawing of product.
Communicate with the Dock Supervisor or Operations Manager regarding any operation issues. Follow up with staff regarding loading concerns and O.S.&

D. issues.
Ensure all staff adhere to safety policies and in conjunction with Operations Manager (Dock Supervisor) conduct ongoing Health and Safety meetings.
Complete a daily dock report.
Supervise dock staff, delegate responsibilities, control overtime costs, monitor time and attendance, ensure safety policies and procedures are always followed.
Communicate scheduling and staff issues and or violations to the Dock Supervisor or Operations Manager. Monitor use of dock equipment i.e. repairs, inspections etc., product in freezer area, pallet sorting and outside carrier activity.
Supervise employee working time i.e. punching out and staying after hours. Communicate employee issues with supervisor and follow up when required.
All other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS   Reach truck’ and ‘fork-lift’ certificates are required.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant dock experience required.
Written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to remain calm in demanding situations and make quality decisions, ability to use good judgment.
Knowledge of Erb Dock procedures required.
Time management skills required to prioritise loading and unloading.

Experience with MS Office Suite required.
Required to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS   Overtime and on-call work may be required.
Salaried position, multiple shift options. Employee may be required to cover other shifts.
Work in a refrigerated dock and freezer.
