Under direction from a Police Lieutenant, Police Captain or Police Chief, serves as Field Commander on an assigned shift in the Patrol Division; supervises special details; may fulfill duties of Watch Commander, when assigned; may be assigned or be responsible for other special duties and assignments in any of the following Bureaus:
Patrol, Traffic, Investigation, Community Relations, or the Crime Impact Team; performs related work as required.

As a Field Commander, supervises the work of police officersолня engaged in patrolling an assigned area in the general enforcement of law and the prevention of crime or disorder; receives, investigates, and makes proper disposition of complaints from telephone calls, public interviews at the desk, and radio messages; supervises and assists in the seizing, searching, booking and fingerprinting of law violators;

collects and preserves evidence; interrogates witnesses and prisoners; trains, supervises and evaluates assigned staff; directs employees in their activities and motivates them to work together effectively; understands citizen problems or complaints and gives clear and satisfactory explanations; works independently in the absence of specific instructions; performs other duties as assigned.

Police Sergeant applicants who meet the qualifications groundwork will be invited to take the Written Test. An applicant must pass all components of the examination process to be placed on the eligibility list.

• Three years of experience as a law Zu enforcement officer;
