Senior Coordinator for Student Organizations, Leadership Development & Assessment

California State University, Monterey Bay is seeking an experienced coordinator to design, coordinate, implement, and assess a comprehensive student engagement program. The incumbent reports to the Director of Student Engagement & Leadership Development (SELD) and works with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), fraternities, sororities, and campus‑wide leadership initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as professional staff advisor for Inter‑Club Council (ICC) and United Sorority & Fraternity Council (USFC).
  • Oversee annual registration, recognition, and reactivation processes for RSOs and Greek life.
  • Develop and maintain the Student Organization Handbook, Advisor’s Guide, and Event Planning Toolkit.
  • Provide guidance to student clubs on policy, event planning, fiscal procedures, and compliance with CSU and University policies.
  • Design and implement leadership development programs, workshops, and conferences.
  • Coordinate TEDx CSUMB, quarterly student leadership training sessions, and campus-wide engagement initiatives.
  • Manage campus engagement tools such as MyRaft (Campus Groups), supporting event registration and accounting.
  • Oversee Esports Lounge operations, budget, and integration with student engagement initiatives.
  • Assess program effectiveness, collect and analyze assessment data, and report on student learning outcomes.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees in leadership, event, and operational roles.
  • Manage budgets, travel, and compliance tracking for RSOs, ICC, and Greek life.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of student services policies and public administration principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to advise students on complex issues and facilitate sensitive group interactions.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and large volumes of work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and student engagement platforms such as Campus Groups/MyRaft.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate‑level education in counseling, higher education, student affairs, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional student services experience.
  • Demonstrated experience advising students in individual and group settings.
  • Proficiency in complex student services problem analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary student organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or Student Affairs.
  • Experience in fraternity/sorority advising and program coordination.
  • Experience managing online student engagement platforms (Campus Groups/MyRaft).
  • Familiarity with CSU system policies and higher‑education legal frameworks.
  • Experience supporting diverse and multicultural student populations.
  • Strong event planning and execution experience.
  • Technical fluency with Oracle/People Soft or equivalent student/finance systems.
Special Conditions of Employment
  • Background check required.
  • Complies with Title IX, Title 9, and mandatory reporting responsibilities for child abuse and neglect.
  • Designated as a sensitive position with access to protected student and campus information.
  • May require occasional evenings and weekend work.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license for occasional travel.
Physical Environment

Office setting with standard equipment; work at a computer and desk for extended periods. Travel across campus for meetings, events, and program support may be required.
