General Information

This position offers a dynamic opportunity for energetic EOPS/CARE/Next Up or CalWORKs students to work with the EOPS office and positively impact their fellow students’ lives. As a first-time EOPS Student Ambassador, employees would have some experience in student campus office work or other clerical work. EOPS Student Ambassadors will receive training and professional development to guide, connect, and support students in accessing on- and off-campus resources.

This role aims to equip first-time EOPS ambassadors with foundational skills and knowledge to succeed as part of the EOPS Student Staff Team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in training modules related to leadership, public speaking, equity, and office skills.
  • Direct students to campus services and resources.
  • Provide students with information about EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs & Next Up Program requirements.
  • Assist in organizing spreadsheets related to the Lending Library Services.
  • Help in organizing the Lending Library services.
  • Make and confirm appointments for students.
  • Meet and greet prospective students, families, alumni, and special guests.
  • Assist with general office tasks, including filing, answering phones, and maintaining a welcoming office environment.
  • Collaboratively create and maintain a work calendar using Google Calendar.
  • Participate in one Student Staff Meeting per month.
  • Eligibility Criteria
    • Must apply for Federal Financial Aid and be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
    • Be a currently enrolled student at MPC.
    • Enroll in a minimum of 6 units for Fall/Spring or a minimum of 3 units for the Summer term.
    • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
    • Be in good academic standing, without Academic, Progress, or Disciplinary issues.
    • Have an updated Education Plan on file.
    Desirable Qualifications
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English or another language.
