Network Engineer V; OSE – Extreme Certified - KEY

Location(s): Monterey, CA

Hours: Regular Full-Time

Salary Range: $139k/yr - $170k/yr

This position requires a current and active Secret Clearance at the time of application.

The individual in this position will work on Extreme Networks, possess a combination of experience, skills, and qualifications. A Senior Level Network Onsite Engineer is expected to have 10+ years of relevant experience working with network infrastructure, preferably with a focus on Extreme Networks products and solutions. The engineer has a strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including but not limited to LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security.

Is certified to work on Extreme Networks products, such as switches, routers, access points, and network management tools. Holding relevant industry certifications. adept at troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Senior OSE has experience in managing network related projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation, including network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure expansions.

Experience:

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience
• Shall possess a combination of experience and skills with the following manufacturers and applications:
  • VMware NSX:
    Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2)
  • Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access Points
  • Palo Alto Networks Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450/ Wild Fire/URL Filtering
  • Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
  • Cisco Networks switches and routers
  • Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / Clear Pass
  • Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System
  • Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLS
  • Solar Winds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends

Education:

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university
• AA/AS with 2 additional years experience.

Certifications:

• Require anyone of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.
• CCNA Certification or equivalent required.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary would be required.
