Location:
Monterey, CA. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. ICR has opportunities available for experienced and motivated signal processing researchers.
- Derive optimal mathematics for novel statistical signal processing / communications problems starting from first-principles
- Develop expressions that describe the statistical performance of the new algorithms
- Demonstrate the computational requirements and performance of the new algorithms versus baseline techniques
- Understand customer/operational requirements and develop/modify systems to meet them
- Document and communicate highly technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and effective manner
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SSBI and SCI eligibility.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or closely related field
- Minimum three (3) years of experience
- Proficiency with stochastic signal processing and digital communications
- Proficiency with detection and estimation theory
- Proficiency with linear algebra
- Experience with link budget analysis
- Proficiency with C/C++, python, and MATLAB
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent research
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems
- Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or closely related field
- Five (5) years of experience
- Demonstrated refereed publication history
- Familiarity with fast signal processing algorithms
- Familiarity with optimization theory
- Familiarity with information theory
- Familiarity with electromagnetic propagation
- Familiarity with sensor array processing
- Knowledge of Linux and associated development tools
