Pay & BenefitsPay range is set by California Correctional Health Care Services. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience. In addition to base pay, the following may apply:
- Recruitment and retention bonus available for newly hired clinicians.
- Effective May 1, 2022, a pay differential equivalent to 15% of monthly base pay applies to employees located at the Psychiatric Inpatient Program who provide direct patient care at least 75% of the pay period.
- Eligible for a one‑time $10,000 recruitment stipend and a monthly differential totaling $20,000 during the first year, subject to criteria.
- Potential $5,000 referral bonus for employees remaining employed 90 days post‑hire.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) will reduce each full‑time employee’s base salary by 3% and provide 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part‑time and permanent intermittent employees receive equivalent prorated adjustments.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the Chief Psychologist, CF, the Senior Psychologist, CF (Supervisor) is responsible for:
- Direct training and clinical/administrative supervision of subordinate staff psychologists.
- Performing the most difficult psychological evaluations and associated treatment of incarcerated patients.
- Assisting with program development, research, training, clinical consultation, and revision of department policy and procedures.
- Acting as a specialized psychological consultant to institutional staff upon request.
Minimum qualifications include the requirements listed under the job duty statement (see CalHR record 9288).
