The Data Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of data center facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and organizational skills to ensure the smooth and efficient running of server environments. Key responsibilities include managing staff, monitoring systems, and implementing policies to ensure optimal performance and data security. The Data Center Manager also collaborates with various departments to support business objectives and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Job Duties:
- Ensure the 24/7 operation and security of the data center
- Manage and train data center staff and technicians
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of data center infrastructure during or after work hours
- Monitor system performance and oversee troubleshooting efforts
- Implement and enforce data center policies and procedures
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment and services
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data center operations
- Assess the customer needs and implement improved configurations for customer needs.
Job Requirements:
• Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent experience in system administration.
• Experience requirements include 7 years of progressive experience in serving as a system administrator.
• Experience leading a team
• Experience maintaining a high availability datacenter
• Experience with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google cloud services.
• Experience with VMware vSphere platform.
• Extensive experience in both application development/sustainment as well as operational support for large, highly scalable applications.
Required Qualifications:
- IAT III certification (CISSP, Security X, CCISO, CCSP, CFR, CISM, GSLC)
