Registered Nurse, CF – Correctional Training Facility (CTF)
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 will reduce each full‑time employee’s base salary by 3 percent and provide 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. This position is for 12 months, may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Job Description and DutiesUnder the general direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Infection Prevention and Control Registered Nurse (RN), CF is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control activities. The RN organizes and provides necessary nursing care in accordance with health‑care policies, procedures, program requirements, and regulations. The RN addresses the ongoing health‑care needs of patients, works with physicians and other health‑care providers, and promotes the efficient, appropriate, and cost‑effective use of health‑care resources.
Minimum QualificationsPossession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)
