Nurse; Clinical​/Ambulatory

Overview

Position is located at the Presidio Army Health Clinic, in Monterey, CA. This is a Federal Government (GS) civilian nursing role within the Defense Health Agency.

• Serve as an Ambulatory Nurse, providing independent nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive telephone and clinical triage, facilitating care coordination through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Screen walk‑in patients to assess severity and determine provider intervention needs.
• Recognize and report abnormal test results, changes in symptoms, and the need for follow‑up.
• Record patient data accurately on charts.
• Assess patients' emotional, cognitive, social, and motivational status relative to education and determine their educational needs and priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license or registration from a state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory; must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program (or higher level). Degree must be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or another accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
