Base pay range$17.00/hr - $25.00/hr
TTL, a steadily growing engineering design firm – now more than 450 employees strong – is seeking a construction materials field technician for our Tuscaloosa, AL office. No experience? No problem. We’ll start you at $17/hour, or more if you’ve been in the field for a while. Description- Monitor, observe, and sample materials used in construction work
- Perform routine field and laboratory tests and inspections to verify conformity with construction plans and specifications
- Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors
- Prepare daily reports and data sheets
- Operate with close to moderate supervision
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree with an emphasis in physical sciences and/or math preferred
- Ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing
- Good driving record
- Perform heavy lifting of 50 or more pounds
- Work in outdoor (hot or cold) environments
- One year of testing experience in soil, concrete, earthwork, and asphalt preferred (but not required)
