• Serve as the coordinator for the summer reading and math camps.
• Collaborate with the school principal and organize the program following guidelines provided by the local education agency (LEA).
• Monitor instructions to ensure teachers provide the content instruction, including the approved program portions of the lessons throughout the day.
• Ensure teachers provide direct, explicit, and systematic reading intervention services and support that improve any identified area of reading deficiency.
• Ensure teachers are using evidence-based reading strategies or programs, or both, to accelerate student reading achievement.
• Ensure teachers have access to approved comprehensive mathematics curricula for core instruction as provided by the district.
• Provide teachers with the approved mathematics intervention programs or curricula or both for Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
• Collect data to ensure teachers consistently implement the evidence-based mathematics teaching practices.
• Attend paid professional learning sponsored by the district before the program starts, and provide orientation to teachers before the first day of the program and ongoing as needed.
• Provide time for teachers to plan for daily lessons and instruction not to exceed one hour after the program ends.
