Program Manager for Career and Workforce Development
Job Summary: The Program Manager for Career & Workforce Development will organize agricultural environmental, food, and related Extension and Educational programs in the Southeast and surrounding regions. This employment includes but is not limited to working with academic institutions, corporations, faith-based, and other organizations. This position will work with and involve faculty, staff, and students involved in the Center of Excellence for Farming, Food Systems, Rural Prosperity, and Economic Sustainability to develop premier programming primarily in the areas of Career Readiness and Workforce Development in areas based on program and clientele need as determined by the Center Director and Co-Directors.
The person hired for this position must have considerable experience with youth and adult education as well as a proven record of accomplishments working with diverse clients. This position calls for excessive travel and will be stationed.
- Participate in meetings and conferences at the local, regional, national and international levels as requested/approved by the Director/Co-Directors.
- Provide leadership in planning, monitoring and evaluation of CFSRPES and related programs in Career Preparedness and Workforce Development for Farming and Food Systems.
- Provide information and support to the 1890 community as relates to Career Preparedness and Workforce Development for Farming/Food Systems, Rural Development program development, implementation and assessment.
- Develop Tuskegee University and Regional/National partnerships to provide more impact in career Preparedness and Workforce Development in Food/Farming Systems, and Rural Development.
- Provide facilitative leadership in the evaluation of the CFSRPES program areas and related Thrust Areas.
- Provide technical assistance to CFSRPES colleagues in program design, curriculum development, online resources, evaluation planning and design, and data collection and analysis methods.
- Conduct evaluations for multiple purposes and audiences on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in developing and providing various professional development experiences in Career Preparedness and Workforce Development as they relate to the goals of the CFSRPES .
- Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals consistent with and in support of CFSRPES’s mission.
- This position does require weekend and after-work hours during peak season.
- This position will require traveling.
- This position is fully funded through a grant
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in sustainability, sustainable agriculture, or a closely related field with noted experience.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to view a computer terminal
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of various computer software, such as Microsoft Office
Skills:
- Must be able to teach effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability:
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and work within teams.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures.
