Child Development/Support
At Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, the proud home of Air University and the intellectual center of the United States Air Force, our military families are shaping the future of global defense leadership. Behind every dedicated service member, scholar, and instructor stationed across Montgomery’s historic River Region is a family that relies on world‑class support. As an Educational Technician (Lead Child Development Program Technician) (GS-1702-05) at the Maxwell‑Gunter Child Development Center, you will step into an essential role nurturing and inspiring children from six months through five years of age.
This isn't just a childcare job; it is a vital mission where you will spark curiosity, foster belonging, and build an enriching foundation for the children of our nation’s airmen and guardians.
Operating within the 42d Force Support Squadron’s Child & Family Services Flight, you will provide specialized developmental care, execute creative curriculum plans, and deliver leadership in the classroom. You will take the initiative to design learning adventures spanning early math, literacy, music, art, science, and motor development, while also stepping forward as a mentor for junior colleagues and serving as supervisor‑on‑duty when center leadership is away.
From monitoring individual milestones and adapting programs for children with diverse physical or behavioral needs to maintaining the highest health and safety protocols, your dedication ensures that military parents can focus on their national security mission knowing their little ones are thriving.
