The Manufacturing Controls Engineer is responsible for facilitating and implementing new process technology, standardization, new product introduction, process installations and modification, and continuous improvement within Contech’s plastics manufacturing facilities. The position requires up to 50% travel.
Primary Responsibilities:- Support manufacturing to address technical and process related problems, including a root cause analysis. Participate as a liaison between plants and external support providers to identify and resolve equipment and process issues with sustainable long‑term solutions.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage projects as assigned, ensuring they are executed to meet committed targets within budget.
- Facilitate technology advancements that include new product and/or technology introduction. Develop and initiate sustainable preventative maintenance measures as needed.
- Facilitate a culture of "Lean Thinking" to include process standardization, setup reduction, and flow layout that results in lower operating cost.
- Mentor and provide technical training and support as required.
- 4 Year Bachelor’s degree, Electrical, Controls or Industrial Engineering or related field preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 3 years electrical controls‑based machine design/modification experience with multiple technology platforms.
- Working knowledge of NFPA
70e and electrical distribution systems 600 VAC or less. - Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret technical documentation for advanced electrical controls.
- Project management experience in planning, coordinating, execution and follow‑up is critical to position success.
- Excellent communication skills.
