Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technician - Flex + Weekends

Overview

This position exists to work independently and as part of a team responsible for reconciling patients' medication regimens during the admission process. Medication reconciliation is defined as obtaining a complete and accurate medication history with the involvement of the patient and/or family; comparison of a patient's home medications to the medications ordered on admission and identification of discrepancies, followed by a clarification of any noted discrepancies.

• Education
  :
  High school diploma or equivalent. College courses desirable, but not required.
• Experience
  :
  Prefer two years in clinical setting. Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
  :
  Pharmacy Technician registration through Alabama Board of Pharmacy;
  National Technician Certification recognized by ALBOP
• Equipment/Tools/Work Aids
  :
  Computer, Calculators, Drug information software, EMAR, Telephone, and copier
• Physical Requirements
  :
  Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to utilize the PC and calculator;
  Visual acuity also necessary for filing and proofing;
  Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods;
  Verbal communication and hearing ability to communicate with a multitude of customers; ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job
