Summary

The Emergency Care Technician will serve as a supportive member of the patient care team who will assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care and other duties to support the operations of the Emergency Department. The ECT will assist the RN in the patient care process. This individual will greet patients and families as they enter the Emergency Department lobby.

This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited EMS Program.
  • Successfully passed the Psychomotor Skills Assessment and written exam.
  • At least 2 years Advanced Life Support field experience.
  • May be cross trained in a minimum of two job classes (e.g. Monitor Tech, PCT, Lab Tech) with completion of "Dual" competencies.
License/ Certifications

EMT licensure required, BLS required.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
