Job Description & How to Apply Below
What you’ll do
- Lead a team of 6–12 engineers delivering NOS features end to end (design, implementation, test, rollout, and operations).
- Translate product/architecture goals into clear backlogs, milestones, and quality gates; manage predictable delivery.
- Review designs for correctness, performance, and operability across kernel/datapath, on-box agents, and telemetry.
- Uphold operational excellence: SLOs/error budgets, canaries, staged rollouts, incident response, and blameless postmortems with durable fixes.
- Build a feedback-rich culture; hire, onboard, coach, and grow engineers; establish clear expectations and performance management.
- Collaborate with partner teams (Networking, Compute, Security, SRE) to land dependencies, resolve conflicts, and align on SLAs/SLOs.
- Maintain secure development practices: signed artifacts, change control, auditability, vulnerability management, and compliance with Oracle policies.
- Domain ownership within NOS (e.g., datapath feature area, on-box telemetry, or a control plane agent), not the entire program.
- Operates with an M5+ manager/architect for strategy; focuses on execution excellence, team health, and local technical leadership.
