MGH-Prog Auto Press Operator

Job Description

The Programmable/Automatic Press Operator will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

• Operator must understand the safety of the entire line including:
  Loading coils, feeding steel through straightener and feeder, first and last progression of the die, and emergency shut down of press equipment.
• Must properly set and use light curtains.
• Must understand proper start up and shut down of equipment.
• Must set indicators for material thickness.
• Must set guides for material width.
• Must understand CNC controls such as:
  Link 2500, Tonnage Monitor, PLC feed system.
• Operator is to properly identify and retrieve steel according to steel codes (proper material thickness and width), and load coil through the feeder system.
• Assist die setter as required.
• Monitor complete operations to ensure proper operation of press system and to maintain maximum production for which the system is designed.
• Make all adjustments as required for proper press operations.
• Must identify, troubleshoot, and correct operation of press line.
• May involve communicating with die setter, maintenance, or tooling.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
• May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be able to add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions and decimals.
• Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision.
• Team oriented.
• Candidate must promote Rheem Values of Integrity, Teamwork and Business Ethics.
• Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
• Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
• Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
