About AES Division

AES, a division of Lennox founded in 1988, is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation. We recently expanded our capabilities to become a miscellaneous steel manufacturer and added a Mechanical Services Division. These new services reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors, enhancing the services we provide to our General Contractor network nationwide.

AES has four different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce freight costs and shipment lead time.

What Drives Success

A Welder for Lennox AES at our Tallassee, AL location is a skilled position responsible for performing welding tasks with precision and expertise. They work with various materials, such as galvanized steel and aluminum, interpret blueprints, and ensure the quality and integrity of our products (roof curbs, drop boxes, etc.).

Shift Information

3rd Shift: Sunday‑Thursday 10 pm‑6:30 am.

Duties
  • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
  • MIG weld 10‑to‑20‑gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Under direct supervision, spot weld metals together.
Qualifications
  • Familiar with safe welding practices.
  • Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
  • Capable of welding 10‑to‑20‑gauge galvanized steel (training provided).
  • Physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Self‑starter who requires minimal guidance on daily tasks.
  • Quality oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding machines and preventive maintenance.
  • Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred:
    Trade school or certification in welding.
  • Required:

    1‑year previous MIG welding experience.
  • Positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation and Benefits

This is an hourly non‑exempt role. Starting pay is $19.50 /hour with a shift differential of $1.50. Overtime applies after 40 hours per week. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may include:
