Description
The President of the Jackson Hospital Foundation is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive, effective development program and coordinating the program with related Jackson Hospital activities. The overall effectiveness of the program is dependent on building broad community awareness and support, and promoting liaisons between and among Jackson Hospital and their related subsidiary groups. The program shall include fund-raising through annual giving, capital gifts, grants, endowments, and planned giving from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Qualifications- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. A Master’s Degree or MBA is strongly preferred. CFRE credentials will receive special consideration.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years fund-raising experience with a major philanthropic institution.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated success in a senior level fund raising position, ideally for a large healthcare organization. Similar experience in an academic organization, especially one with a medical school, would also be preferred.
- Significant knowledge of and successful track record in fundraising from a variety of sources including individual, corporate, foundation and government fundraising.
- Demonstrated success of effectively leading change and organizational growth through strategic planning. A systematic approach to fundraising strategies and management of day-to-day operations. Experience developing and implementing a comprehensive system of fundraising procedures. A strong background in Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Endowments, Annual Giving Campaigns, and Grant Writing. Strong and effective influencing, presentation, oral and written communication skills. Proven history in the design and implementation of effective and successful social media fund raising initiatives.
Familiarity with media and media communication mediums, including print, radio, publications, television, and Web resources. A history of leading a strong department focused on continuously exceeding prior year’s goals and accomplishments. Willingness to assume any roll no matter how large or small in order to meet objectives. Personal qualities that include integrity, commitment to Jackson Hospital's mission, respect for diversity and the ability to inspire and motivate.
Excellent board relations skills and a history of recruiting and developing superior board members and working cooperatively with them.
