OverviewThe Registered Nurse shall be responsible for the general supervision and coordination of nursing personnel on shift, including weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This individual will utilize the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and performance of care interventions, and collaborate with Physicians and other clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care.
Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individual care plans using the nursing process.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during shifts, ensuring consistent high‑quality care.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care, observations, and interventions accurately and timely.
- Maintain a safe and infection‑controlled environment.
- Respond to and resolve patient and family concerns.
- Comply with all accreditation, regulatory, and institutional policies.
- Degree in Nursing required; BSN degree preferred.
- Active RN licensure required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, or other certifications may be required depending on area.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
Physical Requirements
- Workday requires ~20% sitting, 80% mobility.
- Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and repetitive hand use.
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Clear diction and hearing sensitivity required for phone and in‑person communication.
- Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range required.
- Exposure to computer work, infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and occasional radiation.
