Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for the general supervision and coordination of activities of nursing personnel on shift, and during weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This individual will utilize the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and delivery of care interventions. The RN will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care.

This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.

• General supervision and coordination of nursing personnel on shift, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform patient assessments, plan care, and deliver care interventions using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to plan and implement patient care.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Resolve patient and family concerns and complaints.

• Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN licensure required; BLS required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC may be required depending on the area assigned.
• Knowledge of nursing care processes, patient assessment, and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; frequent reaching, use of hands, repetitive actions. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity. Requires continuous visual acuity. Frequent computer work. Exposure to infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, and occasional radiation.
