Overview
Assistant Store Manager role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team in servicing customers. Responsibilities- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including team member execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late-afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner; contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and per procedure.
- Process retail returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly; issue refunds accurately using the correct payment methods; stage returned merchandise appropriately.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, and clock in/out accurately with management approval for deviations.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, money/deposits handling according to policy, prepare deposits, secure the building, arm/disarm security alarms, and secure delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification. - Desired:
Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification. - Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
