Position: Project Lead (Structured Cabling)

Project Lead - Structured Cabling

The Project Lead - Structured Cabling will act as the on-site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads for voice and data installation projects. The Project Lead's task is to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Responsibilities
  • Run major project crews consistently, provide training, enforce safety and quality guidelines, hold weekly safety meetings, initiate performance-related communications, and escalations to Project Manager as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
  • Complete all project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
  • Perform quality checks, coordinate moves, cut sheets for voice and data cross‑connects, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Serve as main on‑site customer contact for questions or concerns, attend facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Project Management, Construction, Construction Management, ISP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Cable Puller.
  • Tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle‑nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, 5‑gang punch tool.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
  • Ability to terminate fiber.
  • Minimum six (6) months of supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
  • Proficiency with the listed tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).

Experience Level: Expert Level.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
