Overview
Registered Nurse RN - Renal/Pulmonary - Bethesda North Hospital ition offers full-time or part-time roles with day or night shifts. Sign-on bonus: $5,000 for full-time; $2,500 for part-time.
Responsibilities- Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients and families; completes assessment tools and documents findings per unit/Tri Health guidelines.
- Plans care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and outcomes; initiates and individualizes plan of care or clinical pathways; updates plan as needed; develops short and long-term goals with patient/family and healthcare team including discharge planning; communicates the plan of care to others.
- Provides a safe, therapeutic environment; maintains patient autonomy, dignity, and rights; respects patient diversity; seeks resources for ethical decisions; balances unit/facility priorities; recognizes emergencies and acts accordingly; completes patient assignments and documents within scheduled time frames.
- Administers medications/treatments safely and monitors effects; uses equipment safely and appropriately.
- Trains/educates other staff and serves as an expert resource in the specialty area; executes physician orders accurately and communicates effectively.
- Evaluates the plan of care based on patient outcomes; documents patient/family responses and teaching; collaborates with patients/families and other health care team members to revise plans as needed; supervises delegated care.
- Demonstrates professional growth, participates in continuous learning, and maintains current knowledge in area of practice; supports organizational changes.
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing; new hires must obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire.
- BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers);
Registered Nurse licensure. - Knowledge, judgment, and skills from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet healthcare needs across the life cycle.
- Preferred:
Membership in related professional organizations; RN experience preferred but not required.
- Encouragement to obtain professional certifications (e.g., MED-SURG, GERO-BC, CPDN); affiliation with ANCC, ANA, Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses, and American Society of Nephrology.
- Unit: 5300 Medical-Surgical Renal/Pulmonary, a 43-bed unit caring for renal and pulmonary conditions, COPD exacerbations, and dialysis-related complications; supportive environment for new graduates and experienced nurses.
- Working Conditions:
