Overview

Registered Nurse RN - Ortho/Neuro - Bethesda North Hospital, part of Tri Health. Position offers Full-time or Part-time roles with Day or Night shifts. Sign-on bonus:
Full-time $5,000;
Part-time $2,500.

About the Unit

The 6300 Medical-Surgical Unit at Tri Health Bethesda North Hospital is a 41-bed unit specializing in orthopedic, neurosurgery, and trauma patients. Care includes total joint replacements (knee, hip, shoulder), hip fractures, and spinal surgery. The unit supports role transition students, nursing students, and new graduates with a focus on teamwork, communication, and high-quality patient care.

Job Overview

This position applies the nursing process to provide direct and indirect holistic care to patients and families. It involves collaboration with physicians and the health care team. May delegate certain aspects of care within the scope of nursing practice.

Job Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
  • BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers
  • Licensed Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications
  • RN experience preferred but not required
  • Membership in related professional organizations encouraged
  • Certifications such as MED-SURG, GERO-BC, ONC, Pain Certification, CNRN are a plus
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient and family assessments; document findings and communicate with the health care team
  • Plan and implement individualized care plans with patient/family input, including discharge planning
  • Provide a safe, therapeutic environment while maintaining patient autonomy, dignity, and rights; respond to emergencies as needed
  • Execute nursing interventions based on clinical data and goals; educate and train staff as needed
  • Collaborate with the patient/family and health care team to revise the plan of care
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor effects; use equipment safely
  • Demonstrate ongoing professional development and adaptability to organizational changes
