Assistant Professor of Ecohydrology/Tenure-Track (Type of Position:
Faculty - Non-Tenure (Research)) at University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Job Duties
This position will establish an innovative, dynamic, nationally-recognized research program in ecohydrology; develop grant proposals and secure funding; publish in peer-reviewed, nationally recognized scientific journals; recruit and mentor graduate students; serve as an advisor for undergraduate students; and coordinate or contribute to cooperative research efforts by faculty and other stakeholders in the region. Teaching duties will include undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in watershed management and related courses in support of the program.
The tenure-track, 12-month position will carry the rank of Assistant Professor with an approximate appointment of 70% research and 30% teaching.
- Establish an innovative, dynamic, nationally-recognized research program in ecohydrology; develop grant proposals and secure funding; publish in peer-reviewed, nationally recognized scientific journals; recruit and mentor graduate students; serve as an advisor for undergraduate students; and coordinate or contribute to cooperative research efforts by faculty and other stakeholders in the region.
- Teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in watershed management and related courses in support of the program.
- Ph.D. in or closely related to ecohydrology, forest hydrology, or wetlands ecology. All candidates should value high-quality teaching, have an ability to secure research funding, and have an active record of publication.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license.
