Graduate Assistant Position

The University of Arkansas at Monticello Residence Life Department is seeking a motivated and student-focused Graduate Assistant to join our team. This position provides hands-on experience in residence life, student affairs, student leadership, and community development while pursuing a graduate degree at UAM.

The Graduate Assistant will assist with:

  • Supporting the daily operations of Residence Life
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing Resident Assistants
  • Planning and implementing student programs and engagement initiatives
  • Responding to student concerns and supporting conflict resolution
  • Assisting with student conduct and community standards
  • Supporting Residence Life events, training, and departmental initiatives
  • Participating in an assigned on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Admission to and enrollment in an eligible graduate program
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory academic standing
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work 20 hours weekly in the Res Life office
  • Ability to live on campus and work evenings/weekends as needed

Preferred:

  • Previous Resident Assistant or Residence Life experience
  • Student leadership, programming, or supervisory experience
  • Interest in pursuing a career in higher education or student affairs
