PositionProduction Manager
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the overall planning, scheduling, and oversight of the manufacturing activities at one or more of the company’s manufacturing facilities. Plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for the manufacture of the company’s products in accordance with established cost, quality, customer specifications and internal inventory and financial parameters.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations within established company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain plant production schedule(s) and staffing/labor reports as required.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the manufacturing process standardization program, including ensuring participation by all assigned personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances within the sphere of control.
- Review results of manufacturing operations with the goal of minimizing manufacturing variations and performing root cause analysis on problems impacting plant performance and/or financial results.
- In conjunction with the Plant Manager, develop the facility’s operating, staffing and capital expenditure budget and monitor/report performance.
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate the facility’s production supervisory staff.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, labor efficiency, and machine utilization to maintain and improve production results.
- Ensure compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements; understand environmental aspects and impacts of activities.
- Adhere to the Company's Safety and Quality policies and practices.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education.
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant supervisory or management position.
- Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the Plant Manager.
- Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods during a normal work shift.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
