Test Cell Technician

Job Purpose:

To safely perform complete quality control checks on all Girtz power modules.

• Technical Certificate with 1 year related experience and / or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Ability to weld and operate machining tools.
• Basic computer, electrical and mechanical skills.
• Understanding of diesel engines and power generators
• Ability to use basic hand tools, electrical measuring equipment and tape measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions.
• Will be regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• Will regularly be required to work outside in all types of weather.
• The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• The work environment is usually loud.
• Reliable and predictable attendance required.

• Testing all electrical circuits. Circuits would include switch gear, power distribution fuel displays and battery charging systems. Make repairs to such circuits.
• Inspecting all aspects of engine and engine components.
• Mechanical repair of things such as coolant leaks, fuel leaks and fuel probes.
• Responsible for setting up power modules for test to include fueling of the unit, attaching load cables and AC house shore power
• Electrical voltages would include 120, 240, 480 and 600 volts AC. Occasionally higher voltages are required
• Perform other duties as assigned.
