Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) - 0.60 FTE Special Education Teacher - District Wide Pool

Starting the 2024-25 School Year - August 19, 2024

Job Description

This position involves working with students with individual needs that meet criteria for special education. Responsibilities include small group instruction, work completion assistance, and teaming with mainstream teachers. The special education teacher will collaborate with other service providers during the day to meet student needs.

License & Experience
  • Licensed Special Education Teacher in the State of Minnesota
  • Knowledge and experience working with students with special education needs
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge and experience completing due process and following timeline requirements of special education
  • Experience completing Part B evaluations
  • Ability to assure and implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to special education
  • Team-oriented approach when working with students, colleagues, families, and administrators
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish a culture for learning aligned with the district's mission and strategic plan
  • Ability to inspire and engage students in relevant learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and family information
  • Experience working with diverse students and families; training in Culturally Linguistically Responsive (CLR) methods preferred
