A Mill/Turn Machinist will play a key role in the daily operation and setup of Mill/Turn machines, ensuring quality, precision, and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for meeting production goals, troubleshooting processes, and maintaining a safe, high‑performing work environment. WhatYou’ll Do
- Independently set up and operate machines for various jobs, ensuring adherence to company quality standards and production efficiency. Seek assistance from a supervisor or senior machinist for advanced setups as needed.
- Troubleshoot production issues with support from Senior Machinist, Supervisors, and Engineers to ensure smooth production flow.
- Conduct in‑process inspections of machined products and document results to ensure products meet specifications.
- Assist Junior Machinists and Production Operators in diagnosing and resolving technical issues that arise during machining operations, improving team competency and flexibility.
- Maintain a safe working environment, upholding a proactive safety culture by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in machining or a related field, or work experience in place of education.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a machinist.
- Mori Seiki or DMG Mori turn experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills – express ideas, share information, listen actively, and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, use basic math for calculations, and use hand‑held measuring tools.
- General knowledge of CMM, VCMM, and GD&T.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of reading G‑code and M‑code.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
