Position OverviewThe Tax Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations for the company and its subsidiaries. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing tax returns, maintaining accurate tax records, assisting with audits, and supporting strategic tax planning to optimize the company’s overall tax position.
Responsibilities- Assist in quarterly and annual tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and journal entries.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies as needed.
- Support the preparation of tax forecasts and assist in developing tax planning strategies.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
- Maintain organized tax documentation and support record‑retention requirements.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with accounting, finance, and operations teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business transactions.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local income, franchise, sales, and use tax returns for all entities.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or candidate preferred.
- 7+ years of corporate or public accounting tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with income tax, sales/use tax, and franchise tax filings.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Net Suite, SAP) and tax software (e.g., One Source, Corp Tax, Ultra Tax).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Professional development and CPA support.
- Experience in a multi‑entity or multi‑state environment.
- Background in private company or corporate tax compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying process improvements.
- This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Montoursville, PA office.
