Role SummaryThe Corporate Development area aims to source capital efficiently and support effective capital management. As a thought partner to the Head of Capital Management, you will identify, evaluate, and select reinsurance/M&A opportunities and actions. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deal sourcing and evaluation:
Build and maintain a pipeline of potential targets, strategic partnerships, and reinsurance opportunities. - Transaction execution:
Manage the entire reinsurance/M&A lifecycle from sourcing and due diligence to valuation, negotiation, and final integration. - Financial and market analysis:
Develop sophisticated financial models and perform market analyses to support investment decisions. - Cross‑functional leadership:
Lead and coordinate teams from finance, legal, operations, and other departments. - Stakeholder management:
Act as a key liaison and build relationships with external partners, investment bankers, advisors, and investors. - Reporting and presentation:
Prepare and present detailed business cases, investment memos, and board‑level reports to senior leadership. - Strategic planning:
Identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and new growth opportunities to support long‑term strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- 16+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, including 5+ years in corporate development, reinsurance, investment banking, private equity, or consulting.
- Significant knowledge of life insurance, annuities, retirement products, or other relevant lines.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence; actuarial experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Statutory, U.S. GAAP, U.S. Tax and other solvency financial statements.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships, and communicate complex information clearly to senior executives.
$225,000 – $330,000 USD, plus discretionary annual incentive programs and a full range of benefits.
Additional Compensation and BenefitsThe total compensation package may include medical, financial, and other benefits (401(k) eligibility, paid time off, etc.) and participation in National Life’s incentive programs. Employees are at‑will.
