Senior Accounting Analyst

A well-established North American retail/manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join its corporate accounting team. This is a hands-on role offering broad ownership across the accounting cycle, financial reporting and analysis within a collaborative environment.

• Own key aspects of the month-end close
  , including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze balance sheet accounts
  , investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Manage accounting schedules including fixed assets, prepaids, payroll and inventory
• Prepare financial reporting and provide variance analysis and commentary on results
• Partner with FP&A and other finance stakeholders to explain financial performance
• Support cash flow forecasting, audit requirements, tax remittances and consolidation/reporting
• Identify accounting issues and contribute to process improvements and stronger financial controls
• Take broad ownership of assigned business/account areas from close through reporting and analysis

• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close and general accounting
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations and financial analysis
• Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to investigate results and identify when something does not make sense
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA designation is an asset, but not required
• Retail, inventory, manufacturing and/or consolidation experience considered an asset
• Open to either an existing Senior Analyst or a strong intermediate-level candidate ready to step into a broader senior role
