Overview
The Program Officer’s primary purpose is to ensure the consistent and appropriate interpretation and administration in all facets of the grants administration program of the organization including the eligibility, application and accurate and efficient distribution of funds from the two funding streams (individual and group) of the Future Generations Foundation, in accordance to the specific principles and guidelines set out by the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, the court approved FG Foundation Administration Plan, and the FG Foundation Terms and Conditions.
The Program Officer undertakes all functions related to efficient program support and day‑to‑day administration of the grants program and FG Foundation. They ensure the efficient use of administration of the FG Foundation resources, in accordance with the priorities enumerated in the Strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Receive, evaluate and prepare applications for funding decisions.
Interpret and administer all facets of eligibility and compliance.
Support the preparation of key program deliverables.
Reconcile data to facilitate information.
Ensure the call for applications and administration of contracts is consistent with the court approved FG Foundation Administration Plan, Terms and Conditions and is in accordance with established procedures and processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Persons of Indigenous ancestry will be given preference (s. 16(1) CHRA).
Must have at minimum a post-secondary degree in a related field of study and have experience working with projects and programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have excellent skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with Survey Monkey and database management an asset.
Experience working with First Nations communities is a strong preference.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Bilingualism in French is a strong asset.
Must have strong client relations experience.
Must be able to work independently and meet deliverables.
Experience working in the Not-for-Profit Sector a strong asset.
