Legal Assistant, Litigation; Dorval

Key Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support which includes proofreading, revision and preparation of documentation under the instruction of the legal professionals and transcription of data from various sources (eg voicemail, dictation, etc.).
- Acts as a liaison between relevant internal and/or external parties.
- Routes or answers routine correspondence to relevant parties.
- Provides clerical, administrative and general office support including, but not limited to, scanning, photocopying, faxing, scheduling and calendar management, receives/places phone calls with internal and/or external parties, mail, organizes travel arrangements, and scans PDF documents.
- Provides billing support with respect to accounting and invoicing clients as required. This includes review of pre‑bills, making corrections or advising Accounting to make corrections and mailing out the final bill under a cover letter. Prepare expense requisitions etc.
- Creates and maintains physical and electronic files in accordance with standard procedures, including opening and closing files, conflict searches, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Community College Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent combination of experience.
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Civil Rules, procedures and practices.
- Experience with Civil Litigation court procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of Mediation procedures and practices is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands.
- Excellent organizational/follow‑up skills.
- Proofreading and accuracy are required.
- Proficient knowledge of computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
- Excellent ability to learn current computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary.
- Knowledge in legal accounting software.

Compensation:
We offer a market‑leading total rewards package with the expected range of the annual salary to be between $61,000 to $75,000. The final salary is influenced by the location of the incumbent and may fluctuate based on the qualifications, skills, and market considerations, ensuring alignment with internal and external pay equity standards.
