Under the supervision of the Document Control Manager, the Document Control Technician is responsible for applying document management procedures and standards within a construction project while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

What you will do
  • Administer the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
  • Manage user access rights and permissions
  • Apply document coding and identification standards
  • Ensure document management processes are properly followed
  • Act as the primary point of contact for users of the document management platform
  • Perform document control on hospital equipment deliverables, drawings, and specifications, and ensure their distribution to project stakeholders
  • Assist team members in locating and retrieving project documents within the document management system
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of internal electronic document management processes
  • Organize and coordinate the final project documentation handover to the client
This role could be for you if you have
  • A university certificate in Archival Studies or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in document management
  • Experience in the construction industry and on hospital projects, an asset
  • Experience using document management systems and/or document classification systems, an asset
  • The ability to create and maintain document registers and tracking matrices
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and information-sharing skills
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Professionalism and a high level of discretion in handling confidential documents
