Your Mission

At Diagram, every Venture Builder joins us with one clear goal: launch one high-quality venture per year.

You will have end-to-end ownership of this venture, from insight to launch, with the backing of Diagram’s capital, playbooks, and deep network of founders, experts, and investors.

1. Develop winning ideas:
Research trends, regulatory shifts, and technology inflections to craft bold investment theses in climate, energy, mobility, infrastructure, and industrial innovation.

2. Find the sharpest pain points:
Interview customers, experts, and value chain players to uncover high-value, underserved problems worth solving now.

3. Design venture-scale solutions:
Create product and business model concepts with venture-scale potential.

4. Pitch & get funding:
Size the market, assess tech feasibility, analyze competition and economics then pitch to Diagram’s Investment Committee to secure pre‑seed capital.

5. Get to market:
Lead MVP scoping and validation, recruit pilot customers, and collaborate with technical and industry advisors to derisk the earliest build.

6. Find the founders:
Help recruit and vet potential founders, pitch them your venture idea, and onboard the chosen entrepreneur to lead the company.

7. Support the build:
Help the new founding team get to first traction by transferring your insights, introducing early customers and partners, and leveraging Diagram’s venture services and Sagard’s ecosystem.

8. Be part of the ecosystem:
Represent Diagram in the climate innovation and venture community: attend key events, share insights, and build relationships with other builders, VCs, and operators.

• 2‑5 years of work experience in relevant fields such as:
• Early‑stage startup experience incl. product management, strategy, or engineering
• Consulting or investment roles focused on technology, energy, operations, engineering and/or sustainability at a top firm
• Venture building at a venture studio
• Early‑stage and thesis driven venture capital

• A track record of outstanding performance
• A proven entrepreneurial mindset, high degree of ownership and a self‑starter mentality
• High intellectual curiosity and rigor
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)—comfortable pitching ideas, prospecting, selling, and inspiring others
• Ability to produce high quality content (memos, presentations) for both internal and external stakeholders
• A proven ability to quickly ramp up on complex industries or technical concepts
• A passion for creating a safer and more resilient world

This role is a launchpad. Many of our Venture Builders go on to become co‑founders of Diagram companies, operators in our portfolio, or investors and partners in the ecosystem. You’ll gain direct exposure to our investment committee and work alongside seasoned founders, building a world‑class network and a strong foundation for future leadership in venture, entrepreneurship, or investment.
