As a Regional Health & Safety Manager within Pomerleau’s Health and Safety team, you will act as a change agent and ensure the interpretation, implementation, and enforcement of health and safety laws and regulations across job sites and facilities within your territory, in alignment with our corporate practices.

What you will do
  • Participate in development initiatives and act as a subject matter expert for Health & Safety Site Coordinators within your territory;
  • Ensure understanding and proper use of health and safety systems, processes, and policies implemented on sites in your region;
  • Guide site management personnel (Project Directors, Project Managers, Superintendents, H&S Site Coordinators, etc.) toward achieving corporate H&S objectives by ensuring full engagement from all stakeholders;
  • Act as a resource person for site supervision teams on projects under $12M (kickoff meetings, onboarding, safety pauses, health and safety committees, etc.);
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies;
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with our H&S management system;
  • Produce and submit weekly inspection reports to Corporate H&S Management for all sites under your responsibility;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of H&S management tools;
  • Participate in recruiting personnel required to support the H&S program;
  • Be involved in special mandates with clients and government authorities;
  • Help identify training needs on construction sites;
  • Deliver certain health and safety training sessions on site;
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with health and safety requirements and support project management involvement;
  • Contribute to the annual evaluation of the health and safety coordinator in your territory;
  • Provide temporary coverage on job sites if required;
  • Participate in H&S promotion initiatives across sites in your territory
This role could be for you if you have
  • A Prevention Officer certification card, high school diploma, or relevant training in the construction sector;
  • 5 years of experience as a Site Health & Safety Coordinator or in a similar role;
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry;
  • Availability to travel across Quebec
