Project Manager
Our client is a company specialized in the design, fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals and structural steel for the construction industry. We are hiring a Project Manager (PM) to join its deeply experienced team.
Full time, permanent on‑site.
Salary is offered based on experience (up to $90K).
RESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate will work directly with the management team on the flow of information internally, to the client, and to subcontractors. The PM must be a highly motivated team player and goal‑oriented individual that is willing to put the time and attention required to ensure the success of the projects.
- Manage all functions and steps of the project life cycle.
- Coordinate with the Production Managers for all shop drawings and fabrication.
- Coordinate with the buyer for the purchase of all materials.
- Coordinate with the Office Manager for all contract and project documentation.
- Coordinate all interactions with the General Contractor’s PM’s and foremen.
- Coordinate installation and ensure that projects are completed on time.
- Excellent understanding of the construction industry and project management, especially in miscellaneous metal and structural steel projects.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret architectural and structural drawings; perform material take‑off, estimation and prepare shop drawings.
- Proficient understanding of current construction practices, methods and materials.
- Knowledge of building codes and structural steel standards.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
- Direct experience managing miscellaneous metals and structural steel projects either with the specialized sub‑trade or with the general contractor.
Preferred bachelor’s level education. Postsecondary education with direct industry experience is accepted. Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry.
